HALF of British people (48%) say they would like to get away from their wider family over the Christmas period – if they could, but only 2% actually will? That's according to the latest research.

Christmas and New Year – for all the fun and celebrations, can of course be a little too much to cope with and can therefore be an intimidating prospect for many. Whether you embrace the festive period, survive it or don’t celebrate it at all, the chances are it will impact you one way or another in the coming weeks; Enterprise Car Club can be a useful option especially when public transport takes a break on Christmas and Boxing Day. 

Just 3 hours is enough...

• 1 in 6 of us tells the odd white lie about their Christmas plans to their family to avoid having to spend too much time with them
• We manage just 3 hours before we need a breather 
• The absolute maximum we can cope with the togetherness is 22 hours before we hit breaking point
• On Christmas day itself, the first of three family arguments comes at 12.50pm, just before lunch (coincidence?)
• The kids’ first tantrum will have already happened at 11.25am.

That’s a lot to cope with, especially when you feel you can’t escape.
